Ustaz Sonhadji was among the early students of Madrasah Aljunied Al-Islamiah. A very prolific writer and tireless da'i, he was the only Singaporean to complete the exegesis of the whole Al-Quran. Ustaz Sonhadji passed away after Subuh on the second day of Ramadan 1431 corresponding to 12 August 2010.
